Why We Do
Health is foundational to human dignity, productivity, and overall well-being. Yet, millions of people in India continue to experience barriers to basic healthcare due to poverty, lack of awareness, limited access to services, and inadequate infrastructure. Preventable illnesses, delayed diagnosis, and poor health-seeking behavior disproportionately affect marginalized communities, pushing families further into cycles of vulnerability.
Women, children, elderly populations, and informal workers often face the highest health risks. Maternal and child health indicators remain a concern in underserved areas, while non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension are rising due to lifestyle changes and limited preventive care. Inadequate nutrition, poor sanitation, and lack of clean water further compound health challenges.
The COVID-19 pandemic exposed systemic gaps in healthcare access and highlighted the importance of community-based, preventive health systems. At DUA Foundation, we believe that healthcare should be accessible, affordable, preventive, and community-centered. Health interventions must move beyond treatment to include awareness, early detection, and sustained behavioral change.
